Alienated Grandparents Anonymous (AGA) Canada is a peer-support group for grandparents and parents alienated by their children.
AGA was founded in 2011. Today, it has presence in 50 states in the USA and 19 countries worldwide. AGA's international headquarters is located in Naples, Florida (www.aga-fl.org).
AGA Alliances meet twice a month, depending on the Alliance. We focus on information, talking about and understanding estrangement, Grandparent Alienation Syndrome (GAS) and helping people cope with the unbearable pain and isolation.
We bring in knowledgeable speakers to address various aspects of Grandparent Alienation.
We discuss possible ways to try to resolve situations and bring alienated grandparents, parents and grandchildren together.
Since joining AGA, some of our members have reunited with their families. Others have renewed contact that was not there prior.
If you are an alienated grandparent or a parent alienated by adult children, we would love to have you join us.
Mission Statement AGA Canada
Alienated Grandparents Anonymous (AGA) Canada was formed in response to a growing trend of adult children who cut parents/grandparents out of their lives resulting in the loss of connection with grandchildren. We provide a source of peer support and information for grandparents who are or have been estranged, alienated, or isolated from their grandchildren.
Policy Statement
Alienated Grandparents Anonymous (AGA) Canada focuses on the struggle so many grandparents have in being part of their grandchildren's lives. AGA provides support and information and helps validate the feelings of those suffering some degree of estrangement, alienation, or isolation. AGA serves toward bringing alienated grandparents, parents, and grandchildren together. The following goals are the ways in which we hope to achieve this:
